Dr Darren Clark

 

Dr Darren Clark,

Chief Executive

Darren joined Medilink in 2004 and has over 20 years experience in the life science sector, the majority gained in industry with the remainder in academic research. He has a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and a Ph.D in Applied Microbiology.

 

Costa Philippou

 

Costa Philippou,

Business Development Manager

Costa is responsible for all aspects of Medilink’s service offerings, from the extensive events programme to a number of European projects. Costa has a stong commercial and international trade background, including setting up his own export company and managing the East Midlands International Trade Association (emita). He joined Medilink East Midlands in 2008.

 

Ros Graves

 

Dr Ros Graves,

Innovation Team Leader

Ros is one of the specialist team providing innovation support under the iNet project.  Ros has a BSc in human anatomy and cell biology and a PhD in biochemistry. Ros’s main areas of expertise are in high tech spin outs and start ups. She is an experienced academic and has a good knowledge of intellectual property management through roles at both University of Nottingham and Leicester.

 

Max Pulford

 

Max Pulford,

Innovation Adviser

Max's background is in medical device manufacturing and distribution.  He is an experienced production manager, having been responsible for the manufacturing and sale of high-specification consumer medical devices for primary and secondary care. His special interests are waste optimisation processes, quality management, regulations and CE-marking.

 

Melanie Davidson

 

Melanie Davidson,

Innovation Adviser 

Melanie brings a background of industrial research and business development from West Pharmaceutical Service’s Drug Delivery Division. She also broadens our bioscience reach having studied Animal Science at The University of Nottingham.  Before joining Medilink, Melanie gained valuable experience in economic development and international investment at the East Midlands Development Agency (emda).

 

Becky Brown

Becky Brown,

Marketing and Events Executive

Becky joined the Medilink team in November 2011. Her duties include coordination for regional, national and international events. Becky is also responsible for membership support, marketing and communications.

  

Richard Hadfield

 

Richard Hadfield,

Contracts Manager

Richard is responsible for our school outreach progammes as well as for European project contract management. He joined Medilink from the education sector, having been office manager at an independent private school, and accommodation manager within the international office at New College Nottingham. Prior to this, Richard was a senior member of the UK and EMEIA admin team at Arthur Andersen. 

  

Catherine Hadfield

 

Catherine Hadfield,

Office Manager

Catherine has been part of the Medilink team since 2004. Catherine's main duty is to manage all aspects of HR, including pensions, recruitment, employment contracts, health and safety as well as general office/administrative duties. 

 

 

Julie Buda,

Finance Manager

Julie joined the team in 2012.  Julie is responsible for managing the accounts, payroll, cashflow forecasting and any finance matter related to the running of the company.  Julie has gained a lot of experience in Accounts and Finance working for a variety of small and large companies in Finance Managerial roles. 

 

 

Hussein Hijazi,

Bio Education Lab Manager

Hussein is a 4th year Ph.D. student in Plant Genetics at the University of Nottingham.  He has 10 years experience in Scientific Research and over 5 years in teaching. He completed his undergraduate degree in Lebanon in Natural sciences. He joined BioKnex in 2009 and Medilink East Midlands in 2010.
