CLAS Work Placement and Employability Programme

This programme supports students in the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies (CLAS) at the University of Nottingham by offering them a free programme of structured employability skills training in semester one followed by a term-time, part-time, voluntary placement in semester two. Our students study modern languages and cultures and film, TV, communications and media studies and are able to bring their unique knowledge and skills to your organisation via work experience.

Work placements are:

  • At least 50 hours in length – usually one day per week for 8-10 weeks
  • Undertaken between January and May each year
  • Voluntary – no cost to the organisation
  • Usually project based – such as helping organisations to manage events, managing social media accounts, developing a digital comms plan or conducting market research

If your organisation would benefit from hosting a student in 2019, please email Elise Bagley or visit the website to find out more.
