The primary purpose of this post is to enable the department of Research and Innovation, the NIHR Nottingham BRC and CRF to take the lead in developing PPI/E across NUH biomedical research. The post holder will provide operational lead in ensuring R&I /BRC /CRF meet NIHR and HRA requirements, and in meeting their goal to develop PPI/E that is effective and embedded at institutional level across NUH research.
The post holder will work with the R&I, BRC and CRF leadership teams to review and update the #Nottingham Is Research strategy and plan & provide operational lead for implementation of the strategy, focusing on providing a support service for researchers; promoting PPI and research; working with local communities; and monitoring and evaluating PPI/E activities
The post offers the successful candidate the exciting opportunity to lead on a ground-breaking project to work with local communities and community leaders to broaden and diversify the range of patient and local community groups involved in research at Nottingham.

The Research & Innovation Department at NUH is one of the focal points for clinical research in Nottingham and the East Midlands. The Trust is currently the EM top recruiting organization for 2017/18 with over 11,000 participants in studies, and recruits over 28% of the total number of participants of research studies within our Clinical Research Network in the East Midlands.
The broad ranging research portfolio includes our National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre awarded in 2017-2022 in partnership with our academic partner University of Nottingham. The R&I Department also support the NIHR Nottingham Clinical Research Facility located across three hospital sites.
