The University of Nottingham, in collaboration with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Nottingham Trent University and Loughborough University, is bidding to the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) for a multi-million pound Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT).

The flagship training programme ‘Empowering Independence: Engineering Health and Wellbeing’ will focus on developing innovative technologies which support people living healthier independent lives, whether recovering from accidents and illness or living well with chronic conditions.
50 PhD students will be supported through the programme (a cohort of 10 annually for 5 years).
